About Mamisbudget

Mamisbudget is a collection of free online family budget calculators built around a simple observation: family money is different. A household with kids, groceries for five, and childcare bills does not fit neatly into budgeting tools designed for one person with one rent payment. So we built the tools around the reality: the expense categories families actually have, benchmarks that reflect real household spending, and advice written by a parent who has stared down the same bills.

What makes us different

Built for families, not individuals. Every calculator assumes a household: per-person grocery math, per-child childcare comparisons, holiday budgets split across recipients. The defaults look like real life.

Private by design. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you type never leave your device: not sent to our servers, not stored, not sold, because we never receive them.

No accounts, no paywalls. Every tool is free with no signup and no usage limits. We plan to keep the lights on with advertising at launch: simple display ads, never pop-ups that block the tools, and never paywalled results.

Real math, explained. Each calculator page shows how the numbers work and includes a worked example, so you can verify results and understand your money, not just trust a black box.

The blog

Alongside the calculators, we publish practical money writing for parents: grocery strategies that work, saving on tight budgets, childcare planning, and making the money stretch. New posts arrive monthly, written by a mom, for parents.

A note on accuracy

Our calculators use standard budgeting math and widely published benchmarks (such as USDA-inspired food cost bands). Results are estimates for planning purposes; your market, your family, and your habits will differ. Nothing on this site is financial advice; for big decisions, talk to a qualified professional.

Editorial standards

Mamisbudget provides practical online calculators designed to make family budgeting easier to understand and use.

Calculation methodology: Our calculators use documented formulas, defined assumptions, and appropriate rounding methods. Where relevant, individual calculator pages explain the methodology and provide worked examples.

Sources and references: Where calculations depend on financial rules, published rates, or other external information, we aim to identify relevant authoritative sources and explain applicable assumptions and limitations.

Accuracy and maintenance: We review calculator functionality and reported issues and make corrections when errors are identified. Calculation methods and explanations may be updated as requirements change.

Corrections and feedback: Users can contact Mamisbudget to report calculation errors, outdated information, or other concerns. Reports are reviewed and addressed as appropriate.

Our priority is to provide useful, understandable, and reliable calculation tools.
